Dance Party

When I was looking up songs to put on my playlist, the kids were making requests and dancing to all of the songs. They thought it was so much fun, they want to have a dance party every night before bedtime.... I'm not sure it's the best way to wind down for bedtime, but they really love it!!! Here are a few videos I took...the lighting is bad, but you get the idea....these boys of ours are definitely keepers!

my toe...

This has been an interesting week!... On Monday, we had preschool at our house, so I was trying to do some last minute things for that and trying to get 1the boys dressed. I got Graham dressed, and was sitting on the floor dressing Owen when Graham decided to lay on the floor next to us and bite Owens finger...Hard! Owen starts screaming (of course) and I look at his finger and it has two little rows of red teeth marks...he wasn't bleeding, but pretty close! I picked up Owen and grabbed Graham under the arm to take him to time-out and while I am hauling both children, one of them kicking and fighting me, and both of them screaming, I caught my toe on my high chair and broke it! I have kicked it several times, and it always hurts, but I knew something was wrong when I looked at my toe and it was crooked! While I was trying to recover from the pain, I made sure Graham was in time-out (he wasn't getting out of it just because I am a clutz) and I put Owen in the booster seat with some Cheerios and got the phone to call Aaron. I knew they couldn't do anything for a broken toe, but I wasn't sure what to do about straightening it out. While I was calling Aaron, I started feeling sick, so I sat at the table and before he could answer, I passed out and fell off of my chair onto the floor! So, when I came to, my head hurt, I was dizzy and nauseaus, Owen was still screaming, Cameron and Graham were both staring at me, and Cameron kept asking me why I fell off the chair. Yeah, A whole lot of drama for such a dumb injury! Cameron brought me the phone so I could call Aaron. I was kind of out of it when I talked to him, so he sent a friend over to help me and to take the kids, another friend called everyone and cancelled preschool for me, another friend (who is an EMT) came over to look at it, and one family even brought us over bread and get well notes! I was so amazed at how well we were taken care of for such a little thing! We really have some amazing friends here, and I am so grateful for all of them! I did take a picture of my toe before they straightened it, and Aaron told me that it was gross and no one wanted to see my foot, but (like my friend KT said in her blog, this is for me so I can remember things) so I'm putting it on here anyway, so if you don't want to see it, you can just skip the next part.....

Camerons Dreams

Cameron informed us tonight "when I grow up, I'm going to be an indian (he just got a new bow and arrow toy), a scuba diver, a dad and a jedi because I'm good at all of those things." He informs me every few days what he is going to be when he grows up and it is always funny to hear! He is always so serious when he tells us these things too.... like at dinner tonight, we were trying to get him to eat more of his fish by telling him that he won't get big muscles if he doesn't eat his fish....he thought for a few seconds and said "that's okay, I can get big muscles another night!" He is a pretty great kid!
You can't see very good in this picture, but cameron is wearing socks pulled up to his knees, soccer shorts and cowboy boots. I told him he looked like a cool soccer player cowboy, to which he replied "yeah mom, but regular cowboys are lots cooler than soccer cowboys."
He started soccer a few weeks ago and is loving it! He gets frustrated because we have 2 aggressive little boys on our team who get the ball most of the time, so mostly he just chases them up and down the field, but when he actually gets close enough to kick it, he gets really excited about it! We havent taken any pictures yet though.....we keep forgetting to take the camera with us!
He is also in preschool right now, I do a joy school with 6 other ladies.....we just switch houses every week and the kids love it. Last week, they were learning about dinosaurs and apparently Cameron told everyone that all of the dinosaurs died because they made bad decisions and wouldn't stop killing each other! I'm not sure where he gets all of his information, but he's pretty hard to talk out of an idea he's come up with.....he is convinced that his mom and dad don't know much about anything!!! I didn't think that was supposed to happen until they were teenagers!

San Francisco

Aaron had to go to San Francisco for work last week and since I had never been there, and the hotel would already be paid for, I decided I would tag along. We took Owen with us, and my mom came and stayed at our house with Cameron and Graham! San Francisco is such an amazing city, it reminded me a lot of New York. The hotel we stayed at was right downtown so it was easy to walk everywhere.

The first day, Aaron didn't have meetings, so we were able to tour around together. We went to Golden Gate park, there were different museums and things to see, but the highlight was the childrens playground! Cameron and Graham would have been in heaven there! Owen loved it, but isn't mobile enough to appreciate all of it! They had these cool things there though that he couldn't get enough of, they looked like little buckets on a post and you sit in them and spin! I have never seen them before, but I took pictures of Owen in them.....pretty cool!

These pictures were taken in a flower conservatory in the park, they had a butterfly exhibit inside with butterflies flying all over! Owen loved the butterflies!

The second day, Aaron was in meetings all day, so Owen and I wandered around the city, mostly walking through really expensive stores. Just about every store we went into had 3 or 4 levels, so they took forever to get through! Then there were tons of little boutique type places selling anything you can imagine! Everywhere we went, people commented on Owen......there aren't too many babies in downtown San Francisco, I think we may have seen 2 or 3 the entire time we were there! That night after Aarons meetings, we went to fishermans wharf. It was a really cool place, there are all of these piers along the coast, most of them you can't go out on, but this one is for the public. There are tons of little shops and restaurants, and you can see alcatraz and the golden gate bridge. It was a little cold and windy, but we had a lot of fun. Owen thought the sea lions were pretty interesting!

The last day, Aaron only had meetings in the morning, so we were able to see more of the city together before we had to head to the airport. We went into a huge mall and found a really fantastic gelato place! They had tons of different flavors, and after sampling almost every one, we decided it didn't really matter what flavor we got because they were all so amazing! Owen was also very impressed with the gelato, every time I stopped shoveling it into his mouth, he would start yelling!

The kids had a great time here with my mom! They got to go to the zoo, the childrens museum, and the playplaces at McDonalds, Artic Circle and the mall! I don't think they were too excited when we got home and Grandma left.....mom and dad are not nearly as much fun as Grandma!
